La Isla Del Encanto

Austin and I went to Puerto Rico last month. It was amazing. My favorite part was the Bioluminescent Bay tour. We went out in canoes at ten at night into a little lagoon. There are organisms in the water that light up when disturbed. When the fish would swim by it would leave a little tail of light behind it. It was the coolest thing I have ever seen. Unfortunately you can't take pictures because they don't put off enough light and a flash turns every thing back. We stayed at a hotel on the beach. Here is the view from out balcony.

We spent a lot of time on the beach at out hotel and it was really nice. We also spent a lot of time walking around Old San Juan. It is so beautiful. All of the houses and shops are bright colored stucco. It looks awesome. The streets where so small it was hard to get a picture.

One day we told our cab driver to drop us off at his favorite restaurant. This is where he took us.

It looked dirty inside, but the food was so good. It was by far the best meal we had while we were there. Authentic Puerto Rican food. Yum!
We walked through the old fort. It was beautiful. It was right on the ocean.

This is a little chapel inside the fort that they had just finished restoring.

We also went horseback riding in the rainforest. It was so fun. We saw a big iguana on our ride.

It really is la isla del encanto (the island of enchantment). I hope we get a chance to go back.
